The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy

Hit and miss for customer service, perhaps due to nature of the location they seem guarded. If you wear a suit and tie they might treat you nicer.

We have been going to the Medicine Shoppe for a number of years now. The employees are always pleasant and the service is exceptional! Michelle always has the time to answer your questions and address any concerns you may have.

Quick and fast services. Always willing to help and very kind people. Great place to get your medication.

First experience was good. But recently got disappointed terribly. Least cooperation by staff.Here is the story: I visited pharmacy for refill and was told that they have to call my physician next day for approval (only 15 minutes were left for pharmacy to get closed). I also called my phsycian and they sent the voice mail right away. Now I visited next day and was told that they havn't received anything from the physician. I had to rush so i left. Next day I visited pharmacy at 5:45 pm and the lady there said she recieved perscription this afternoon but she had no time to get it done. Now 10 minutes left and she cannot do it. Tomorrow is Easter break so I have no option but I have to wait till Saturday. I was shocked by this behavior. I even told that I need it badly because I have infection and she said she cannot do anything. If a pharmacist is not willing to help then who? I will simply never visit them again. They completely lost a client today. In fact never to any any Shoppe Medicine Pharmacy.

I must say this place has been essential in the past few years, and especially in the past 6 months – Michelle and her team are truly remarkable; knowledgeable, friendly, empathic and affordable; could one ask for anything more from one’s local delightful pharmacist? Gracias! | LCA

Love this pharmacy, the staff have been very helpful, even calling other pharmacies when they were out of stock so that I got my prescription filled prior to cataract surgery. They are never too busy to answer questions and after a few visits seem to know who we are. Very personal service.

Got my vaccine here a week ago. I am very scared of needles so was really nervous, but Michelle's energy was just calm and made the appointment seem like no big thing. Really very appreciated!

At first this seemed like a great pharmacy. Those working there were helpful and friendly, however today a third party called inquiring about personal information related to my medications, particularly about what times I visited the pharmacy and what times I ingested my medications. The third party was given the requested information without my consent, by the pharmacies owner/supervisor. This information was given after I made a personal request with the pharmacist to keep my personal information confidential from inquiring 3rd parties. The pharmacist gave me her word that this information was and is confidential and broke it. I am considering making a formal complaint with the proper authorities. Here is some information taken from the confidentiality portion of the code of ethics from the Alberta College of Pharmacy webpage.1. Inform each patient about the use that will be made of the patient’s personal information, unless otherwise authorized by law.2. Disclose a patient’s personal information only pursuant to the patient’s consent or for the purpose of providing care to the patient, unless otherwise authorized by law.3. Inform the patient to whom and for what purpose the patient’s personal information will be disclosed, unless otherwise authorized by law.4. Use information obtained in the course of professional practice only for the purposes for which it was obtained, unless otherwise authorized by law.5. Seek only information that is necessary to make informed decisions about the patient’s health and the treatment alternatives that align with the patient’s treatment goals, unless otherwise authorized by law.6. Protect each patient’s privacy during any consultation.
